We invest in meaningful businesses and transformational innovations with a long-term perspective.

The G. K. Goh Group is based in Singapore and invests internationally. We currently invest in three principal dimensions: aged care and retirement living; early-stage ventures; and growth businesses with the potential for transformational impact. We also manage a portfolio of public equity investments.

About us
We have significant exposure to aged care businesses in Singapore and Australia, and we also invest in listed equities, public market funds, venture capital and private equity. We have a particular interest in science-based early-stage ventures, including deep tech and medical spinouts from universities.

The Group was founded in 1979 by Mr Goh Geok Khim as a Singapore stockbroking business. This was listed as G. K. Goh Holdings Limited on the Singapore stock exchange in 1990 and continued to grow across Southeast Asia until all the securities businesses were sold in 2005. G. K. Goh Holdings was delisted and privatised in 2023. Since then, the assets of G. K. Goh Holdings and the family office have been brought under a single management and ownership structure.

Since the early 2000s, the Group has invested in a diverse range of businesses, including business services provider Boardroom Limited, Malaysia property group Eastern & Oriental Berhad, European fibre network euNetworks, and a Singapore-listed REIT investing in Japanese real estate. All of these have been profitably divested. Whilst the investments span very different sectors, each investment thesis was both unfashionable and, at the time of investment, significantly undervalued. In the case of Boardroom and euNetworks, we remained invested for 18 years and 10 years respectively. We had excellent partners in all these businesses, ranging from individuals to globally-focused funds, and we have gone on to invest alongside some of these partners in other ventures.

In 2003, the Goh family office invested to fund the expansion of a Singapore nursing home operator, Orange Valley. This 36% stake was sold in 2013, and in the same year, G. K. Goh Holdings acquired a 48% share in Domain Principal Group (now known as Opal Healthcare), a major operator of residential aged care in Australia. This investment has been fruitful, thanks to a strong partnership supporting an excellent board and management focused on bringing joy to those we care for. Opal has grown from 4,800 beds to over 10,000 beds over the past decade (this will rise to over 13,000 on completion of a recent acquisition, making Opal the largest private operator of residential aged care in Australia). Through Allium Healthcare, we also operate Singapore's first premium nursing home.
